Robot Wolverine (Albert) - 6th Edition

Year of release: 1994
Figure Number: 49356
Accessories: Two (2) mechanical arms; Two (2) human arms.
Action Feature: Robotic Arm Weapons

Comments: When is a Wolverine figure not a Wolverine? When its Albert, the creation of the Reavers that is a scrap-heap replica of Canada's favorite mutant son. Billed as the 6th Edition of Wolverine, this is actually not Wolverine at all, but merely looks like him (if you follow the comic history). Even so, it is officially counted as a Wolverine variant.

The figures arms fall off when the legs are squeezed together. Neither set of arms has elbow articulation, but there is knee articulation. The figure does have some of the most interesting sculpting details of any of the Wolverine versions. Included among the details are prominent scars and stitches, handcuffs sewn to the chest, a belt sewn to the torso, and oddly errect nipples.

Not a big seller from this line, perhaps because of the off-beat details. As with several other figures from this line (Trevor Fitzroy, Silver Samurai, and the KayBee exclusive Maverick) ALbert was packaged with another figure (Silver Samurai) in a KayBee exclusive two-pack. Both the individually packaged and KayBee exclusive two-pack can be found occasionally at clearance prices.
