Apocalypse II

Year of release: 1993
Figure Number: 4913
Accessories: Two (2) removable arms, one (1) mechanical claw arm, one (1) weapon arm, and two (2) removable hoses.
Action Feature: Transforming Weapon Arms

Comments: This is a re-sculpturing of the Apocalypse character to more accurately reflect his appearance in the comics. Generally regarded as vastly superior to its first series counterpart, this figure was the first to have removable limbs. No other figure to date has incorporated this feature.

Unfortunately, the "normal" arms for the figure did not have elbow articulation. In fact, the mechanical weapon arms had more movement than the regular limbs. Each of the mechanical arms had a moving part. The claw opened and closed while the other weapon had a thrusting action.

The hoses that came with the figure could be attached to holes in the figure's back and on the arms. However, the hoses had a tendency to fall out when the figure's arms were moved. This may become a significant feature to look for with loose figures in the future as the packaging makes no mention of the hoses (though they are clearly visible in the sealed pack and shown on most photos of the actual figure).
