December 12, 2007 (SEATTLE) - WizKids Inc. announces the scheduled release of the Pirates of the Cursed Seas™: Rise of the Fiends PocketModel™ game.

Rise of the Fiends explores the stories of legendary Pirates characters like Calico Cat, "Cannonball" Gallows and the Hag of Tortuga, and there is more to these characters than any fan knows! Each Rise of the Fiends Game Pack comes with a piece of the story. There will be 10 stories to collect, each illuminating the life of a prominent character in the Pirates of the Cursed Seas world.

"Rise of the Fiends will feature two all-new ship designs, one being a stationary cannon flotilla," said Tiffany O'Brien, Pirates of the Cursed Seas brand manager. "The other is the first ship we've ever made with moveable parts, which provides another way to send your opponent's ships to the bottom of the sea!"

The Pirates constructible strategy game™ (CSG) has been rebranded as the Pirates of the Cursed Seas PocketModel game, with Rise of the Fiends being the first release. Despite the name change, the game play is not changing, and Rise of the Fiends will be completely compatible with all previous releases. Pirates of the Cursed Seas: Rise of the Fiends will release in January 2008.
