MEZCO'S KING KONG ACCEPTED INTO THE MUSEUM OF MOVING IMAGE

March 8, 2007 - New York - A Mugwump stares forlornly from the ceiling, Kid Dy-No-Mite! wears a plastics smile, and a vintage stuffed Bugs Bunny stands proudly in a huge showcase. That was the scene Wednesday at The Museum Of The Moving Image as they accepted the prototype for Mezco's King Kong action figure into their permanent collection.

"Toymaking is an often under appreciated art form," said Mike "Mez" Markowitz, President Of Mezco Toyz, "and I find it very gratifying that The Museum Of The Moving Image not only honors the industry with their amazingly extensive collection of film and television related toys, but also that they are accepting Mezco's King Kong prototype into their memorabilia collection. Often, prototypes are destroyed in the toy making process, and the few that survive usually end up in the hands of private collectors. For Mezco's King Kong to be given a permanent place in the museum, where it will be displayed for generations of fans to admire, among not only so many other great toys but with such amazing movie props as ships from Star Wars and F/X items from Dick Smith, is truly a honor."

Mezco is also in talks with the Museum Of The Moving Image to supply them with prototypes from their Family Guy and South Park lines as well.
