Madame Alexander: Desperate Housewives

MADAME ALEXANDER® TO CREATE LINE OF DOLLS INSPIRED BY ABC/TOUCHSTONE'S HIT SERIES "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES"

January 2007 - Now women of all ages will be able to play "housewife," unlocking delicious secrets hidden in a seemingly "perfect" suburban neighborhood. Madame Alexander® and Touchstone Television are pleased to introduce a line of Desperate Housewives™ dolls, a glamorous portrayal of the women of Wisteria Lane. Dressed in outfits inspired by those seen on the show, the miniature recreations of Bree, Edie, Gabrielle, Lynette and Susan are figures of poise and style, and of course, models of mystery and secrecy. Madame Alexander, the 84-year-old doll company known for tradition, elegance and innovation, has added the Desperate Housewives dolls to its vast collection of cultural icons.

"Madame Alexander is delighted to partner with ABC Entertainment and Touchstone Television on this Desperate Housewives venture," said Gale Jarvis, President, Alexander Doll Company. "Doll collectors will treasure the ladies for their style and artistry, and grandmothers, mothers and children alike can unleash their imaginations."

"It is always our goal to develop products that strengthen consumers' connections with their favorite ABC/Touchstone shows, and we are pleased that together with Madame Alexander, we can offer doll collectors and 'Desperate Housewives' fans this truly unique line," said Bruce Gersh, Senior Vice President, business development, ABC Entertainment and Touchstone Television. "The 'Desperate Housewives' dolls are guaranteed to delight fans of the series and collectors alike."

Dolls

Susan, the lovely illustrator and sensitive soul with brown hair and eyes, expresses her poetic side in a sheer flowing, chartreuse dress that falls just below her knee. Shoes, earrings and a clutch purse accessorize her look.

Gorgeous Gabrielle, with dark brown hair and eyes, looks sizzling in a "very fitting" bright blue sheath with black and white lace details. A gold wrap, matching shoes and dangle earrings complete the 'come hither' look that comes naturally to Gabrielle.

Edie, stunning with her light blonde hair and blue eyes, catches everyone else's eye wearing a fiery orange above-the-knee length dress which features lace overlay details. To set off her look, Edie wears dangle earrings, a bracelet, metallic sandals and a matching clutch bag. Combustion!

Ever the perfectionist, Bree has red hair and hazel eyes. Given her opinion of herself, it should come as no surprise that she would choose to wear a long, flowing, white goddess-style gown. Naturally, Bree has no qualms about accessorizing her gown and she does so with a brocade clutch, silver shoes, earrings and a bracelet.

Executive housewife Lynette, with her medium blonde hair and blue eyes, looks business chic in a black-on-black pinstripe suit with a coral shirt underneath. Lynette accessorizes her suit with black shoes, a black purse, stud earrings and a necklace.

The Desperate Housewives dolls are 16" and have hard plastic bodies and vinyl heads. These dolls are only available for sale in North America.
