DC DIRECT PARTNERS WITH LYNDA CARTER TO CREATE DELUXE WONDER WOMAN STATUE

August 2006 - New York, NY - DC Direct, the toy and collectibles brand of DC Comics, announced the release of a limited edition Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman statue, created in tandem with Carter, who portrayed the 5'10" goddess from 1975 to 1979, first on the hour-long television series "THE NEW ORIGINAL WONDER WOMAN" and later "THE NEW ADVENTURES OF WONDER WOMAN."

The statue, modeled after and personally approved by Carter, was sculpted by the incomparable Tim Bruckner, and is hand-painted and made of cold-cast porcelain. Standing at 13.5 inches, the statue features a costume inspired by the 70s television series. Though DC Direct has made numerous Wonder Woman items, including action figures, statues and props, this is the first time that any have been based on Carter's likeness or her television series.

"DC Direct is thrilled to be working with Lynda to bring this statue to the fans," said Georg Brewer, VP - Design & DC Direct. "Lynda's time as Wonder Woman is indelibly imprinted in all our minds. This is the ultimate Wonder Woman statue for all fans, including those at DC Direct."

The statue was made available for viewing at Wizard World Chicago on Aug. 3-6, at the DC Comics booth. The Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman statue will be available in stores on April 4, 2007.
