LEGOLAND Bricks in Bloom

The Flower Fields and LEGOLAND in Carlsbad Offer Spring Fun for Kids in April

CARLSBAD, Calif. -- April 4, 2006 -- Situated right next to each other in Carlsbad, The Flower Fields® and LEGOLAND® California offer an array of fun, springtime activities for children to enjoy during the month of April.

From April 8-23 LEGOLAND and The Flower Fields will team up to offer the family theme park's Bricks in Bloom event. This spring event allows children the opportunity to build special "ranunculus" flowers, such as those found at The Flower Fields, out of LEGO® play materials. The blooms created are planted in The LEGOLAND Flower Fields to mimic the natural beauty of the neighboring fields. Volunteers from The Flower Fields are on-site to help LEGOLAND guests learn how to properly plant and grow their own seed in a miniature pot that they can take home.

In addition, LEGOLAND offers a fun park of more than 50 rides and attractions for the entire family to explore. The park includes everything from roller coasters to live entertainment, featuring such favorites as Knights' Tournament, Fun Town Fire Academy and master ventriloquist Kevin Johnson.

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch invites families to visit over 50 acres of blooming Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers. Guests can walk the fields and enjoy various special events including music and art during their Bluegrass Day, Easter Celebration and Arts & Crafts Fair. Children and their parents can participate in special activities during each event, while experiencing a rainbow of flowers in bloom.

The Flower Fields is open to the public seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from April 2 - May 7. The Flower Fields provides free parking, restroom facilities, and handicapped accessibility for guest convenience. The cost is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children. Group tours are also available at an additional cost. For more information, call the information hotline at 760-431-0352 or visit the Web site at www.theflowerfields.com.

LEGOLAND California is open daily for spring break from March 30 - May 1, 2006. All Bricks in Bloom activities are included in the price of admission. For more information visit www.legoland.com or call 760-918-LEGO.
