TRU Suggests Toys for Easter Baskets

WAYNE, N.J., April 4, 2006 -- From PLAY-DOH to SpongeBob SquarePants, parents searching for the perfect gift ideas for their children will find the largest variety of ideas beyond traditional candy and plastic eggs in the Toys "R" Us Easter-themed feature shops in all of the company's U.S. stores. To showcase the best Easter gifts for children, Toys "R" Us today announced an assortment of fun toys and games guaranteed to brighten any Easter basket.

While wicker Easter baskets brimming with candy and plastic eggs are still wildly popular, the latest trend combines traditional candy with small toys guaranteed to bring joy and elicit smiles. Even the baskets themselves are transforming, moving away from traditional towards themes and characters that resonate with children, including My Little Pony and Superman.

"Each year, Toys 'R' Us offers parents the widest selection of gift ideas to help fill children's Easter baskets," said John Barbour, President, Toys "R" Us. "We've taken seasonal gift ideas to a whole new level, focusing on Easter and Spring-themed toys that offer hours of enjoyment and entertainment for kids."
