Special Shops to Showcase Expanded Assortment of MLB Merchandise and Players to Meet with Fans at Toys "R" Us Stores Nationwide

WAYNE, N.J., March 21, 2006 -- Toys "R" Us and Major League Baseball (MLB) Properties have partnered to celebrate the national pastime and the opening of the 2006 Major League Baseball championship season. Starting this month, Toys "R" Us stores nationwide will feature an expanded assortment of MLB merchandise in special front-of-store boutique shops. From apparel and collectibles to video games, baseball cards, sporting goods and more, the Major League Baseball shops at Toys "R" Us feature a broad assortment of officially licensed MLB merchandise. Even the youngest fans can get in on the game with a selection of officially licensed T-Ball sets, baseball bats and Rawlings official baseballs. In addition, while visiting ballparks around the country, fans will receive a mini-catalog of Major League Baseball merchandise available at Toys "R" Us stores.

"We are excited to commemorate the opening of the 2006 season with the Major League Baseball themed feature shops at Toys "R" Us stores nationwide," said Howard Smith, Senior Vice President, Licensing, Major League Baseball Properties. Baseball superstars Alex Rodriguez, Jason Varitek, Jeff Kent, Bobby Abreu, Mark Mulder and Aramis Ramirez will be featured in Sports Picks' MLB 14 series of action figures. The biggest rivalry in baseball also comes to Toys "R" Us shelves with exclusive 3- packs featuring the most popular players from the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, including David Ortiz, Jason Varitek, Curt Schilling, Hideki Matsui, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.
