Watchmen Action Figures Cancelled By DC Comics?

It looks as though fans looking forward to the mid-2001 release of the Watchmen action figures from DC Direct are going to be disappointed. According to a news item on Fandom.com's Newsarama, DC Comics has pulled the plug on all planned Watchmen 15th Anniversary products, including the action figures, due to a lack of support from Watchmen creators Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

Moore's long-standing fued with DC appeared to have been resolved, considering the creators work for ABC Comics (published by Wildstorm, which is now owned by DC) and the upcoming Tom Strong action figure. However, recent coversations with Moore, again as reported on Newsarama, began to show otherwise.

It's unfortunate when situations like this arise. In the end, it's the fans who lose.

RTM will continue to follow this story as it develops.
