Pokemon Sales Not Falling After All

pika_money.jpg - 5888 BytesTo paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of Pokemon's demise have been greatly exaggerated.

It's no news that all fads come to an end, and toy industry pundits have been claiming the sky is falling on the Pokemon franchise for a few months now. However, the future of the Pokemon phenomenon may not be as dim as some initially predicted.

A July 20th article from the Associated Presson second quarter earnings at Hasbro Inc., Pokemon was stated as being one of the company's product lines that saw falling sales.

While it is true that the Star Wars and Furby lines both saw a decrease in sales over the second quarter, the AP now reports that Pokemon products actually saw an increase in sales over the same period a year ago.

Looks like there's still time to catch 'em all.
