June 2005 - Miami, FL - Internationally known art duo Friends With You have just confirmed a July release date for the GOOD WOOD GANG, a new series of five modular wood toys positioned to take the international Designer Toy market by storm. Eagerly awaited since early 2004, the wood toys feature five original characters in the artist's distinctive style and combine playability with a strong sense of art value. Friends With You will be released in early July, with a launch release party at KidRobot Los Angeles on July 7 and Giant Robot New York on July 8th. The first edition of these magical wood toys are limited to 500 pieces and will retail for $29.99 each. In attendance will be cute costumed creatures, limited artwork and special surprises in the usual Friends With You fashion.
The Good Wood Gang toys are part of Friends With You's pantheon of characters, each infused with a biography filled with magic, luck and friendship. The figures recount the fable of ancient child gods and the toys that delighted them. "The Good Wood Gang are hand-carved mystical totems," explains Sam Borkson, one-half of the Friends With You duo. "We love creating cool objects that give their owners a good luck charm to focus their dreams and wishes on." This series features five figures, each "carved from holy wood": - Black Foot a.k.a. Captain Bingo � Is Blackfoot Tall? Is Captain Bingo small? It's up to you to arrange your own luck.
- Lucky Doovoo � and ever-sleeping dream guide; use Lucky Doovo's enchanted blackboard to marking a secret drawing or writing the name of someone you love. Comes with three belly-button trinkets.
- Mr. TTT Burger � A rare mixture of the finest ingredients that will satisfy all of your indulgences.
- Squid Racer � uses the power of momentum to keep your life on the track to its true potential. Driven by the faithful Elby and navigated by a singing robot head.
