 BASKING RIDGE, N.J., November 11, 2004 -- Life-like, bendable 12" dolls based on contemporary and historical "can-do" women including Amelia Earhart, Harriet Tubman and Dot Richardson, and others, have been introduced by the Girls Explore(TM) LLC.

Girls Explore highlights exceptional female role models in major fields of science, sports, the arts, the humanities, and business. The first women who made the cut? - Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean
- Dot Richardson, two-time Olympic softball gold medalist and orthopedic surgeon
- Bessie Coleman, the first black female to receive her pilot's license
- 'Babe' Didrikson Zaharias, all-around star athlete, Olympic medalist and founder of the Ladies Professional Golf Association
- Mary Cassatt, acclaimed American-born Impressionist painter
- Harriet Tubman, America's Underground Railroad heroine.
The company, which sells each doll along with a hardcover biography and life-like accessory, has plans to expand their offering in early 2005.
"Gifts can educate and inspire. Whether it be a museum membership, a biography or a reality doll, the right gift can open up whole, new avenues of interest and opportunity for a young girl," said Meg Moulton, Co-Executive Director of the National Coalition of Girls Schools, an educational advocacy group.
