Wizard World Dallas: Nov 5-7

Congers, NY (October 26, 2004) - The country's foremost authority on everything related to comic books, collectibles and pop-culture, Wizard Entertainment, is bringing its popular Wizard World back to Arlington, Texas for the second consecutive year. Presented by expo leader Wizard Conventions Inc., Wizard World Dallas will be held at the Arlington Convention Center on November 5-7, 2004, and is expected to draw approximately 12,000 fans, putting on course to establish the Wizard World series of events as the largest draw for comic books, collectibles and pop-culture in the country. Wizard also holds events in Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.

"The growth of our Wizard World events reflects the fact that the popularity of comic books now extends well beyond collectors," said Gareb Shamus, chairman and CEO of Wizard Conventions, Inc. "We're drawing everyone from the most avid comics aficionados to those who simply want to have a good time and meet the talented superstars of this unique industry."

Writer/director, David Goyer will attend Wizard World Dallas and offer attendees a glimpse of never-before-seen footage of his upcoming Blade: Trinity. Actress and star of the film, Jessica Biel - also of Cellular, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and 7th Heaven fame - will join Goyer to unveil the clips. Also the writer/director for the highly-anticipated Batman Begins, Goyer recently showcased exclusive, un-edited clips from the upcoming film at Wizard World Chicago (August), demonstrating the influence that Wizard World's attendees can exert over the future success of a major studio film.

In addition to unveiling exclusive footage, Goyer and Biel will get up-close-and-personal with Wizard World Dallas attendees, signing autographs and memorabilia following their panel session.

Paul Dini, writer for the critically-acclaimed, hit ABC show "Lost," will also bring exclusive preview footage of upcoming episodes to share with Wizard World Dallas attendees.

In addition to Goyer, Biel and Dini, Wizard World Dallas is a "must see" for any fan of pop culture, and the lineup is studded with the stars of the comic book scene, including:

  • Guest of Honor, Jim Lee (Superman, Batman)
  • Erica Durance (Louis Lane from the hit WB series, Smallville)
  • Jason Mewes (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back)
  • Julie Benz (Angel, Buffy The Vampire Slayer)
  • Michael Turner (Fathom, Soulfire)
  • Ryan Reynolds (Blade: Trinity)

Each of the Wizard World shows feature the most recognized and respected figures and companies in comic book, toys, anime, manga and video games, as well as stars in film and television.
