Four Horsemen To Ride Exclusively With Mattel

Mattel, Inc. has signed an exclusive contract with the multi-talented design team, Four Horsemen, to create high-end collectibles and high-end action figures for core brands within the boys toys and entertainment division.

Based in New Jersey, the Four Horsemen are James Preziosi, Chris Dahlberg, Eric Treadaway and H. Eric 'Cornboy' Mayse. Known throughout the industry as the finest designers of action figures, collectively they have extensive experience in the sculpting, fabrication, design, mold making, casting, painting and showroom presentation of collectible and playable action figures, collectible toys and accessories.

"The Four Horsemen are celebrities within the action figure market, having stellar reputations in the field of design. We are always looking at new and innovative methods of design so that we can truly bring our figures to life in a 3-D format," said John Handy, Senior Vice President, Product Design at Mattel. "Together with our internal Mattel design team, the Four Horsemen will be able to crystallize our vision for several upcoming new lines of action figures."

To their credit, the Four Horsemen are responsible for creating more than 100 action figures and accessories between 1996 and 1999 including The Crow, Chucky, Bride of Chucky, Ichabod Crane, Cy-Gor 2, and Mandarin Spawn. Among the many honors they have received are fan choice awards from "Tomart's Action Figure Digest," "Lee's Action Figure News and Toy Review," "Toyfare Magazine," and "White's Guide to Collecting Figures."

After leaving McFarlane Toys Company in September 1999, the foursome set up their own design company, with the goal of integrating the quality of collectability and playability for which Four Horsemen products are known.

"The reason why we complement each other so well is because we really love what we are doing," said Treadaway. "That's also the reason we're thrilled to be working with the Mattel design team to create new product lines that we're passionate about doing."

Mattel, Inc. is the worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of family products. With headquarters in El Segundo, Calif., Mattel has offices and facilities in 36 countries and sells its products in more than 150 nations around the world.
