Hasbro To Dip Into The Mos Eisley Cantina Well Again?

insiderpoll.jpg - 12158 BytesThe Official Star Wars site and the Star Wars Insider magazine are conducting a poll on Starwars.com to see what background Star Wars character fans would like to see get the action figure treatment. This poll is welcome news to the legions of Star Wars fans and collectors who have grown tired of endless rehashes of core characters from the Star Wars films and long for new characters to become figures.

The poll (shown left) offers a choice of 10 different background characters from Star Wars: Episode IV (A New Hope). None of the characters, all of which are denizens of the Mos Eisley Cantina (except for Wioslea, to whom Luke sold his landspeeder) in the poll have ever been an action figure before.

Is this poll a ray of light to Star Wars collectings hoping for greater diversity in Hasbro's Star Wars lineup and a sign of continued committment to the original trilogy? Time will tell.
