Bandai Ent's s-CRY-ed on DVD

Cypress, CA (May 8, 2003) - Prepare to fight! Bandai Entertainment, the premiere distributor of Japanese animation DVD's in North America, will release s-CRY-ed - The Lost Ground as part of its Platinum DVD Series on July 15. For die-hard fans seeking early deployment, they can go to battle July 1 with the release of the s-CRY-ed Limited Edition Box that features a variety of collectibles. On both dates, viewers will be able to join Kazuma on a spectacular Sci Fi adventure as he continues a quest for survival in the wastelands where all he has to rely upon are special powers to battle the secret organization called 'Holy.'

"With the current popularity of super hero mutant action, we are excited about the launch of the s-CRY-ed series in North America and anticipate that fans will follow this adventurous SciFi story as closely as they have done in Japan since it was first introduced in 2001," said Jerry Chu, Marketing Manager, Bandai Entertainment.

Directed by Goro Taniguchi (Gasaraki, Infinite Ryvius) and screenplay by Yosuke Kuroda (Trigun, Excel Saga), with its English adaptation produced by Taku Otsuka (Trigun, Vandread), s-CRY-ed: The Lost Ground (Vol. 1) features the aftermath of a mysterious environmental catastrophe that has left the land in complete desolation. While mankind has been able to rebuild the city, the catastrophe has caused some humans to undergo genetic mutations that provide them with special powers and abilities - these genetically enhanced humans are known as Alter Users. When the 'Holy' organization threatens to take away Kazuma's freedom, he's given two choices: join or die. Seeking to find the truth behind 'Holy' Kazuma's will rage and consume humanity and Alter Users alike!
