DC HeroClix Is a Hit

November 12, 2002 (SEATTLE) - WizKids debuted their new DC HeroClix: Hypertime collectable miniatures game nationwide September 18, 2002. The game, based on the heroes and villains of the DC Universe, has sold more than one million starter sets and booster packs, which translates into more than five million figures sold within the first six weeks of release.

"We are very pleased with how the DC game is selling," said Jordan Weisman, WizKids owner and founder. "DC HeroClix features beautifully painted collectable miniatures of many classic DC characters. These are characters that everyone has grown up with - characters that form a part of our national consciousness. It is wonderful that we have been able to become a part of that."

"DC HeroClix is, of course, a game about superheroic action," Weisman continued. "The game provides characters with all the abilities found in the pages of DC comic books and allows players to pit their favorite heroes and villains in cape-to-cowl combat. Plus, it does all of this in a game that's fast and interesting, but easy enough for anyone to play."

A complete set of the DC HeroClix: Hypertime game includes 130 different figures. It's available in starter sets that each contain eight DC miniatures and everything you need to play, for $19.95. Booster packs that contain four miniatures can be purchased for $6.95.
