MONTREAL, Nov. 12 - Mega Bloks Inc. today announced that it has agreed to enter into licensing agreements with Disney Consumer Products and its affiliates, for the creation of construction toys featuring beloved Disney(R) characters, including Disney's Winnie the Pooh(R), Disney Princesses and classic characters and Power Rangers(R). The Disney agreement is global in scope, while the Power Rangers agreement covers all major markets where Mega Bloks distributes its Micro products, except Japan.
"We are proud to have the opportunity to work with Disney to add Disney and Power Rangers products to our diverse range of toys sold under the MEGA BLOKS(R) brand," commented Vic Bertrand, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Mega Bloks. "Disney's portfolio of properties complements our existing range of preschool products. And the Power Rangers, with their proven appeal to boys ages 4-7, integrates well into our Micro MEGA BLOKS(R) offerings targeting this age group", added Bertrand.
Details about the MEGA BLOKS(R) Disney and Power Rangers line of products will be released at the major international toy fairs in January and February 2003. Mega Bloks intends to release its first Disney and Power Rangers items next year.
