May 22, 2002 - WizKids today unveiled several more images of their upcoming HeroClix game based on the DC Universe.

DC Hypertime will launch in September 2002.

Just as with the Marvel HeroClix which were released earlier this month, the DC version will have starter sets and booster packs for the game pieces, with the pieces randomly inserted. Just as with the Marvel set, some of the flying characters will have the flight base. The different-colored bases shown in the pictures indicate that the same "arch-enemies" rule will be in effect. The DC and Marvel sets are not officially compatible.

Starter sets will have 8 game pieces, a two-sided map, rulebook, 8 ID stickers, 10 tokens, 2 dice, and a special ability card.

Booster packs will have 4 game pieces and 4 ID stickers.

Some of the characters already announced as being in this initial release are Superman, Batman, Plastic Man, the Joker, Catwoman, and Harley Quinn.

In addition to the packs with random pieces, there will be a "DC HeroClix Premiere Edition" which is a box set of everything you'd need to play the game: ten pieces (not random), a rulebook, two double-sided maps, 6 tokens & markers, 10 ID sticker, and 2 dice. The ten pieces included in this box set are:
