eBay Live 2002 Community Conference

April 2002 - San Jose, Calif. - eBay invites eBay users around the world to come together for an unprecedented event that celebrates the people who have created The World's Online Marketplace™. The company will host the first-ever "eBay Live," an event where community members will meet one another and expand the relationships they have made online, attend educational courses that offer buying and selling tips, and participate in interactive sessions with eBay executives. Thousands of eBay enthusiasts are expected to attend the three-day event to be held June 21 to 23 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

"eBay exists because of the strength and spirit of our community," said eBay President and CEO Meg Whitman. "At the very core of this online company is a community of people who have built it to become the largest Internet marketplace. We look forward to celebrating the many individual and collective successes of the people who are eBay."

Among the scheduled events, President and CEO Meg Whitman will be in attendance to meet with users to speak about the past, present and future of eBay and its community. In addition, community members will have the opportunity to meet eBay staff, hear about new site features and upcoming company activities, and provide feedback on how the site can better meet their needs.

eBay University, a popular series of workshops offering eBay users tips for successful buying and selling, will be part of the weekend's schedule. Taught by eBay experts, the workshops offer helpful instruction in browsing and buying, basic and advanced selling tips and listing with photos and HTML.

Attendees are encouraged to visit the dozens of booths at the Expo, an area of the convention that will feature businesses that help service the eBay buyer and seller communities.

The company hopes eBay Live will give its users a rare opportunity to come together in person, celebrate with one another and build lasting relationships. To help foster this community spirit, there will be numerous social events during the three-day event and designated areas throughout the convention where users of similar interests - whether they're sports fans, fashionistas, or collectors of "cool stuff" - can gather and share their passions.

Registration information can be found at www.ebay.com/ebaylive. Registration fee is $45.
