HotWheels.com Links Up with Wal-Mart


EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Jan. 9 -- Mattel, Inc.'s Boys/Entertainment New Media Group today announced that it has signed an agreement with Walmart.com in an effort to expand its Hot Wheels� brand's on-line presence. Mattel will utilize Wal-Mart's Web site by adding a link directly to the Hotwheels.com Web site. Links to Walmart.com will be featured in the "Shop" Section of the Hotwheels.com site, to encourage visitors to browse Wal-Mart's on-line store. Linking the two on-line stores will provide visitors to each respective Web site expanded purchase options.

"We are thrilled to provide our customer's with this simple, new way to purchase the latest Hot Wheels toys and collectible die-cast vehicles, and strengthen our relationship with Wal-Mart," said Amy Boylan, Senior Vice President of Mattel's Boys/Entertainment New Media Group. "Our visibility on Walmart.com will enable Hot Wheels fans to quickly find Hot Wheels products, and have purchase options."

The store will offer visitors an assortment of Hot Wheels products available both on-line and at Wal-Mart retail stores, while Walmart.com will receive targeted placements, including on the home page, for the Hot Wheels� brand.
