NFL SPORTS PICKS GET BONUS LINE
LIMITED, FOUR-PLAYER LINE COMING IN FEBRUARY

Pay attention here, sports fans, this is kinda tricky and there will be a test at the end. When is McFarlane's Sports Picks: NFL Series 3 no longer Series 3? When it becomes Series 4.

Stay with me now. The NFL Series 3 line, whose potential lineup was discussed some time ago, will now be known as NFL Series 4. Its proposed release date of summer 2002 has not changed.

What has changed is that McFarlane Toys is tossing in an additional group of football players now known as Series 3, Rookies. This is a bonus NFL line consisting of four rookie players that should hit stores around Super Bowl time. Production on this line will be slightly more limited than our typical sports series.

The lineup for the new Series 3 and the rest of this story is posted on spawn.com at http://www.spawn.com/news/news011130a.html.

IT AIN'T EASY BEING AN OPERATIVE
HIGH-TECH MGS2 WEB FEATURE GOES LIVE

While the long wait is over for many of you, what with the U.S. release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and the McFarlane Toys action figures trickling into stores, we devious spawn.com'ers still have some surprises left in the old MGS2 bag.

That's right, another full-on spawn.com Web feature. This time we boil MGS2 down to its essence with complete multi-pose photography and specs on all the figures, including the two top-secret operatives. We've got QuickTime VR movies of each figure, some downloads, figure sculpts and screen shots.

Plus, we've got an exclusive spawn.com interview with game creator and resident Konami genius Hideo Kojima.

The full feature is live on spawn.com now. Your orders are to review the contents immediately by clicking on http://www.spawn.com/features/mgs2/index.html.

NAME THAT UO MONSTER
BE CLEVER, ENTER THIS CONTEST

The fine folks over at Origin Systems, the developers of Ultima Online and the upcoming Ultima Online: Lord Blackthorn's Revenge, need your help. They've got a bit of a conundrum. You see, they have all these cool monsters designed by Todd McFarlane for the game, but they're one shy of cool names to go with those monsters.

That's where you come in. Take a look at the McFarlane-designed four-armed monstrosity that accompanies the story on spawn.com at
http://www.spawn.com/news/news011116b.html. This creature will be added to the world of Ultima Online sometime in the future to wreak havoc on the people of Britannia.

Your task? Come up with a suitable name for him. All the details are available on our site. Oh yeah, entry deadline is Dec. 3.

BOARDERS ORGANIZE ART CONTEST
INCREDIBLE SPAWN.COM TALENT ON DISPLAY

Dozens of members of the Todd McFarlane Productions message board at spawn.com participated in an art contest sponsored by board member
(V)artyr.

Some 36 different artists entered about 60 pieces of their Spawn-based artwork. Board members voted for their favorite, a daunting task given the quality of the artwork in the contest. To find out who winners were, plus get a chance to view this incredible art, go to http://www.spawn.com/news/news011130b.html

QUOTABLES BY TODD McFARLANE
Talking to 'Sports Collectors Digest' editor Greg Ambrosius in the publication's Dec. 7 issue: "I kept telling everyone that this (World) Series was going to go seven games and we were going to win in the bottom of the ninth. Now, let me also say that I was the one who said that Barry Bonds was going to hit only 69 home runs. So don't give me too much credit for being smart."

TSNMAX 'MAGEZINE' MCFARLANE FEATURE
Late Friday afternoon, TSN (Canada's The Sports Network) posted a major feature on Todd and McFarlane Toys on its Web site. Thanks to Brian Garside, who writes for TSNMAX's 'MagEzine,' for his efforts. Please read the feature by clicking on
