medicompic.jpg - 6076 Bytesmedicomlogo.gif - 9684 BytesDiamond Comic Distributors announced that it has become the exclusive U.S. distributor for the Japanese toy manufacturer, Medicom. The new distribution agreement between the two companies gives Diamond the ability to offer specialty retailers a larger selection of Medicom's sought-after products at affordable prices, while at the same time, making these exciting collectibles available to a much broader audience. "As the exclusive U.S. distributor for Medicom," explained Diamond Import Toys Brand Manager Frank Supiot, "Diamond can offer specialty retailers Medicom items at affordable prices, and with a high availability of stock. And with consumer interest in import toys and collectibles rising daily - thanks to the immense popularity of Japanese properties and concepts like Astro Boy, Super Robots (Shogun Warriors), and Ultraman - this excellent sales opportunity could not have come at a better time!"

Among the many new items Medicom is making available to retailers through Diamond's catalog, Previews, are:

  • The 10" tall multi-articulated Raideen Miracle Action Figure (a toy based on the super robot made popular in the U.S. from the classic Shogun Warriors comic and toy line - where it was known as Raydeen).
  • The 8-" tall Giant Robo Miracle Action Figures, which includes Giant Robo (or Justice GR-1), the evil Giant Robo-2 (GR-2; known in the U.S. as Torozon), & Giant Robo's sinister counterpart; Calamity Robo (Murderous Weapon Calamity, known in the U.S. version as Cleopath)].
  • Kubricks - Japan's answer to a certain world famous building block - which includes the Devilman Kubrick Box Set [featuring Devil Man (11 parts and detachable wings), Miki Makimura (12 parts), and Zannin (12 parts)] and the Neon Genesis Evangelion Kubrick Box Set [including EVA-01 Test Type (16 parts to assemble); the Third Child Shinji Ikari (10 parts); and the Third Angel, Sachiel (11 parts)].

"Toy enthusiasts are going to appreciate the top-quality detailing that went into creating these must-have toys," Diamond Purchasing Assistant Manager Chuck Terceira added, "while specialty retailers are going to love seeing these popular collectibles fly off of their shelves!"

A wide selection of Medicom products - as well as other import toys - are shipping to specialty stores now.
