Hasbro's Marvel Q&A March 2009

March 2009 - Each month, Hasbro will answer five questions about their Marvel and Spider-Man products. Here are the latest questions and answers:

1. What should we be saving to mail away for the Nick Fury? (UPC? Receipts? Little Shield pog from package?)

Answer: Details are still being finalized... an announcement about the Fury Exclusive Figure Program will be forthcoming soon.

2. When will we be hearing news about the fan vote? SDCC? Beyond?

Answer: The fan's choice results have been tallied and are being posted as we speak on Hasbro.com/marvel. You'll also be seeing images of the SDCC exclusives closer to the convention and we have a huge list of reveals scheduled for SD.

3. While the Marvel Universe toyline is starting off with a bang and including many non-headliner characters like Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and Union Jack, all of those characters have had previous releases in the Marvel Legends line. The 70th Anniversary fan's poll is a step in the right direction as it includes many previously unmade characters, but outside of the winners of that poll, what are the chances of getting some never-before-made-as-Marvel Legends figures of obscure modern favorites like Rocket Raccoon, Siryn, Groot, Rockslide, Nova (Modern), the Inhumans other than Black Bolt, Anole and others?

Answer: Your chances are good! We're going as deep as we possibly can with this line. You're going to see plenty of big names but you're also going to see plenty of characters that will make you say "C'mon!" Like Firestar and a Giant Goliath in just the first 6 months.

4. The upcoming giant-sized figures look great, but since the release of the Iron Monger figure with working cockpit in the Iron-Man line, I've been wanting know: Does the future hold any MU versions of movie characters (especially now that Wolverine: Origins is in this scale), or perhaps some deluxe figures like the Iron Monger that are too big for the basic line, but too small for these giant-class figures?

Answer: It's a definite possibility. There are lots of characters that fall in between the Giant scale and the regular single carded scale like Wendigos and Sasquatch. We wouldn't want to leave them out!

5. When will the Marvel Universe Secret Wars two packs and the Toys R Us Spiderman and his Amazing Friends 3pk exclusive be released?

Answer: The Secret Wars packs are slated for August 1st and the exclusives will hit in the September / October timeframe.
