September 2008 Hasbro Star Wars Q&A (Part One)

September 2008 - Every couple of weeks, Hasbro will answer three questions per web site about their Star Wars products. Here are the questions and answers for the latest round:

1. Is a super-articulated Republic Commando figure in the works yet?

Answer: Right now, we do have an update slotted into the last wave of Evolution packs in Spring 2009, pending all schedules working in our favor.

2. Does Hasbro still use the RealScan technology? If so, there is a life-mask made from the late Peter Cushing which Gentle Giant used for a mini-bust a few years back. Would it be possible to use a scan of this life-mask to one day make an updated ANH Tarkin figure?

Answer: We do not use the RealScan technology due to the degree of rework each one required. We found it better to sculpt from scratch.

3. Any plans for the following in the Galactic Heroes line:
- Dagobah Yoda from ESB
- Queen Amidala from TPM
- Jedi Starfighters from ROTS
- Emperor Palpatine from ROTJ
- Rebel Fleet Trooper from ANH
- Obi-Wan w/ Jedi robe & Jango Fett w/ removable helmet from AOTC

Answer: There is some good news for you...we can confirm that there IS an EpIII version Starfighter coming out late 2009 along with the Rebel Fleet Trooper. Dagobah Yoda: We did one not too long ago teamed with Spirit Obi-Wan and are not likely to do one again. Queen Amidala: We don't have any additional Amidala figures coming beyond the "white outfit" we have already done. Emperor from RotJ will probably be out in 2010 (not confirmed yet). No plans right now for an Obi-Wan with Jedi robe but that's a good candidate for a redo of Obi-Wan. As far as Jango/Boba with removable helmet, it has been proposed but still no word on whether we will be able to do it.

Be sure to check out the previous Q&As as well.
