August 2008 Hasbro GI Joe Q&A

August 2008 - Every other month, Hasbro will answer five questions about their GI Joe products. Here are the questions and answers for this month:

1. Are the 2nd wave of Mail-Away Doc's going to be on foil cards?

Answer: They will be the same as the first batch, with foil.

2. Pictures are floating around of the new AWE Striker with Leatherneck. The Leatherneck is oddly in Brazil Mission colors. Will we be seeing him released in his original colors somewhere else in the line?

Answer: Right now there are no plans for a second Leatherneck in 2008.

3. Sgt. Slaughter. Flat out, is he a possibility or not? Is he something you are pursuing or is he a lost cause?

Answer: While we love Sarge, his toy rights are currently held by the WWE who partners with another toy company. Because of this, we are currently unable to do a Sarge figure.

4. Will there be vehicles for the GI Joe Combat Heroes toys?

Answer: In the short term we will see how the figures do before we introduce vehicles.

5. Are we going to see more unique Joe team members in upcoming waves? (I love the Cobra legions as much as the next guy and understand the need to keep characters like Duke and Snake Eyes in circulation, but there are so many Joe team members that have not been produced, and it seems like recent waves have been very Cobra and repaint heavy.)

Answer: Did you see what we debuted the last few waves? Bazooka, Mutt and Junkyard, Matt Trakker, Alpine, Quick Kick, Barbecue, Mainframe, Hard Master, Starduster, Ace, Deep 6, Dusty and more! New figures are constantly coming out and will continue in the future.

Be sure to check out the previous Q&As as well.
