Silver Sammurai

Year of release: 1994
Figure Number: 49358
Accessories: Sword
Action Feature: Metal Samurai Armor

Comments: In a series of shelf-sitters, this figure has to be one of the worst of the entire line. Beginning with the lack of elbow articulation and running right through to the odd sculpting and design of the hips, legs and costume, this figure has few redeeming qualities. The removable helmet is nice, but hardly makes up for the overal poor design of the figure.

Surprisingly, this figure was repackaged in a KayBee exclusive two-pack with the 6th Edition of Wolverine, the Robot, Albert.

Even today, this figure can be found at clearance prices in many retail outlets. Digging deeply to try to find something positive to say about this figure, it does show a nice (and appropriate) use of metallic plastic in the armor of this figure. Who knows, perhaps this will become one of the most sought after pieces of this line merely because so few were bought to save on the card. Only time will tell.
