Ch'od

Year of release: 1994
Figure Number: 49365
Accessories: "Furry Familiar" Sidekick
Action Feature: Double Arm Hurling Action

Comments: One of the two Starjammers of this series. This is historically interesting in that outside of the basic team members, Toy Biz rarely did multiple figures of fringe group characters let alone do two in one series. Interestingly, the next series of X-men figures would continue this trend by adding another figure to the StarJammers line-up (Corsair) and producing the first thematically linked entire series (Phoenix Saga).

Ch'od finally made an official entrace into the Phoenix Saga by being part of the FAO Schwarz exclusive Dark Phoenix 4-pack. Ch'od had his trunks repainted from blue to black. This is a very subtle repaint.

The figure itself has no elbow or knee articulation, limiting its poseability. However, the sculpting was very true to the comic's representation of the character. The action feature worked reasonably well, but is reported to break easily with repeated play.

Despite a good effort, Ch'od did not sell any better than the majority of this line and may still be lurking in a clearance aisle near you.
