PLAYMOBIL® SALES TO SOAR WITH NEW AIRPORT PLAY SETS!

February 10, 2002 - Dayton, NJ --- PLAYMOBIL USA, Inc. today announced the introduction of a brand new Airport play world at the 2002 American International Toy Fair.

According to Kathleen Syms, company spokesperson, "the new and exciting PLAYMOBIL Airport will take children's imaginations to new heights. Loaded with new play ideas, clever details and terrific features, this contemporary theme is poised to become a staple of PLAYMOBIL's toy assortment. The PLAYMOBIL Airport items will transport passengers to and from their destinations in style. The unique play sets feature a Boarding Gate & Control Tower, a jumbo jet Airplane, Jet Service Vehicle, Baggage Carrier and a Taxi. The Airport theme is expected to be popular as this terrific new line from a classic play world will bring hours of fun to children of all ages."

A whirlwind of role-play ideas circle around the Boarding Gate & Control Tower and Airplane. The Boarding Gate & Control Tower features an elevator, check-in counter, movable baggage carousel, realistic control tower and loads of accessories. The Jet Service Vehicle, Baggage Carrier and Taxi keep things moving on the ground. The Airplane features a removable roof, baggage compartment, folding stairs, cockpit and many accessories. All crew members are fully accessorized. The new Airport items will fly into retail stores and into the hearts of a new generation of children in August.

The cornerstone of all PLAYMOBIL activities is the two and three-quarter inch figure which can bend, sit, stand, turn its head and move its arms. The hands, which can grasp, rotate and carry accessories is what makes realistic play possible. The figures also have a pleasing facial statement that suits just about any play situation. All PLAYMOBIL men, women, children, babies and animals are compatible with all other PLAYMOBIL vehicles, accessories and environments. The bright colors and rounded edges are ideal for children. And, the unique System X construction features locking-grid building pieces that allow children to quickly and easily change their play worlds by creating new buildings almost instantly. With hundreds of themes to choose from in a variety of age-appropriate settings, PLAYMOBIL is dedicated to enriching the lives of children by encouraging them to use their imaginations as they re-create everyday situations through role-play in a non-threatening environment.
