Hey, TRD! How've you been? Big smile

As for my thoughts on these new Peanuts comics... Well, first let me fairly state that I have not collected comics probably since my younger years since the 1970s. In that regard, many fellow Buzz followers are going to be far more savvy than I. That said, I will say that, so far I do like these offerings from Boom! Studios.

Each issue has about 14 double-sided pages, including the covers. All the pages are bright and full-colored on glossy paper. The illustrations are good-sized, with between 4-8 panels to most pages. The Peanuts story lines in each are supposedly all new, which surprises me to some degree given Schulz's wishes not to have his work continued. However, his son, Craig, is a big part of this, so it is at least sanctioned by the family. Each issue does include a classic, full color Sunday strip. The last few pages of each issue contains advertising for other Boom! publications.

At $3.99 apiece, I've found them to be a fun, worthy investment for my collection. I have not indulged in the pricier (initial offering of $19.99 per issue) special "First Appearance Cover" issues. Some of the first issues (#0 & #1) have featured some of the less frequently/long since retired characters such as Violet and Frieda, so that has been fun. I'm hoping that may continue as the (supposedly) monthly issues continue.

If you have any questions, please let me know! Wink

First, I forgot my manners... How have YOU been, MR? It's been a while! I am doing well, kids readying for summer break.

Thank you for the in-depth overview. I may indulge in a few issues. I was surprised that there were new stories too, but you explained that as well. Making money will always trump other things, but as long as the stores are well done and in the spirit of Charles Shultz, what the hey!

Thanks again!

I just found out about this, as well: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/peanuts-volume-1-charles-m-schulz/110708...

Apparently a 100+ page installment is expected from Boom! in August. Don't know any details yet, though, beyond the description on the page.

Also, apparently there is going to be a limited run (500) cover of Issue #1 available only at San Diego Comic Con:

(scroll down a ways)

I won't be anywhere near there, but for anyone who is and is so inclined...there you go! Wink
