Lol It seems I have an uncanny ability to like the characters and comics that most people don't ...

I loved as azrael as Batman…

I loved Bucky as Capt. America and he has become my favorite Marvel euro as Winter soldier now...

And now I am probably one of the few people that is buying up all the ultimate trade paperbacks LOL

Hey, someone has to keep the rest of the comics moving and circulating so you guys can enjoy all the good stuff Smile

Mark Millar's Ultimates vol. 1 is what brought me back in to comics after a lengthy hiatus. I read the Ultimates religiously up until Jeph Loeb ruined the universe for me w/Ultimatum. I haven't bought an Ultimates title since.

However, I would gladly take any Ultimates character DST is willing to make as a Marvel Minimate.

I absolutely hated those and was mad at myself for not dropping the title after Vol 1. I didn't like Loeb's entries in the Ultimate U either, but the point of Ultimatum (as we were told) was to shake things up and give a little more reason to create new stories instead of doing Ultimate U versions of them. So they kill off a few of the Ultimates only to replace them with people using the exact same code names? And how many freakin' Hulks are there?! Oh, and Red Skull is evil because he has daddy issues, and Hawkeye never misses even though anyone with the right training but terrible aim could teleport a jet to specific location.

To each their own and all, but to me everything I read my Millar in the past 5 years or so just makes me say, "I get it. I read Watchmen, too." I do like that he made Captain America more of a bad@$$, but making him a complete a-hole made no sense to me. Sort of like a Warren Ellis level of hatred for super heroes.

I love cap being a tough guy rather than a Boy Scout. And the portrayal of punisher is also fantastic as well.

Marvel had won me over with Ultimates, x force and others. I just read the death of Spider-Man and thought it was fantastic as well.

To each their own!
