By the way, MOTUC is at 91% according to Scott, though he insists they need the full 100% to keep the figures at $25. We shall see. Be fun to see what happens if it ends at 98% or 99%. >:-)

DC sub looks like it's at about 60%, max.

I like how he's now hinting that Horde Troopers would be in 2013.

I am personally starting to think they want the subscription to fail from the very beginning so they could intentionally charge $30 a figure and then make it look like it was our fault they needed to raise the price that high.

I noticed the Horde Trooper thing, too, which is interesting because he swore up and down he couldn't reveal anything else to entice potential subscribers.

The DCU thermometer got another update a couple hours ago and has literally doubled in size from Friday and is almost at the minimum. It's bizarre because over the weekend according to ToyGuru's reports, MOTUC only went from the 80s to the 90s, although the below report sounds like they could be real close to 100% now. Granted since MOTUC is at a higher quantity, the same amount of orders for both would move DCIE's percentage more. But MOTUC's thermometer moved a ton once the initial panic announcement was made up through late last week, while DCIE's major movement took place this weekend and today.

This is ToyGuru on the He-Man forums 2 hours ago. This is about MOTUC only, but subs will be open all night, so a mini-extension of sorts.

Sub sales will actually be open all night to account for any time zone issues. We'll give you guys the verdict in the am. But in all honesty, we are really there guys! This weekend got a huge boost and sales have been strong all day. I was definately concerned due to such a decrease out the gate. We won't be in "line extension or expansion" mode, but as far as the bare min to move forward at least with 2013 as planned, the fans really stepped up and I hope to have great news in the am!

So... maybe a a dumb question: is the Watchmen sub a go, too? I haven't seen anything about that in these announcements. Not sure if that was going forward regardless, but I thought I saw something initially that said it was up to subscription sales, too.

Lobsterman - i asked Pixel Dan that question on twitter, and he replied that the Watchmen sub was never in danger and has always been a go.

Haven't seen an official answer, but he and Toyguru seem to communicate a fair bit so I'd say he's trustworthy.

Yeah they said watchmen was a go no matter how many sold. Must be some contractual obligation or something.

So, one day after meeting the MOTUC sub threshold and making sure there was a video to that effect, Scott is now saying on the Matty forums the sales were extremely low and they will be unable to make all the vintage line characters before the Classics line ends. The 2014 line will apparently be 12 figures, max, possibly six.

He also said Geldor was always going to be part of the line, all the fan vote did was push him up on the schedule.

Wasn't one of the hard pitches for the sub a vow to get all the vintage line characters out by the end of 2014 if the 2013 sub went through?

And, if Geldor was already planned, and all the fan vote did was move him up to October 2013, wouldn't that mean he was likely originally planned for 2014 and, either way, is taking a spot from a vintage line character?

And, if he was always going to be part of the line, anyway, wouldn't that mean the fan vote wasn't really what it was presented to be?

If I was a cynical toy nerd, I might have some theories about what these things suggest...

I think the Watchmen's figures high price point help made the guarantee sales of the subscription less necessary for them. Or maybe the sub sales actually were pretty high. It probably helped that this was the only subscription where we knew exactly what was coming, although now watch us get Dollar Bill and Captain Metropolis in 2013 and have to wait for the Comedian and Nite Owl in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

Maybe what he meant was Geldor was always coming in the original-but-now-abandoned-plan to extend the line to 2016. Either way he shouldn't have said it. Maybe he's bitter about Illumina losing.

I think that's just the nature of these polls. We don't know what the company already has planned and they're not willing to divulge. We're always voting for figures that are already coming in the Star Wars fan polls. Mara Jade won the 2011 poll and Hasbro still didn't have a prototype to show at Comic-Con, but nominees Nikto Guard, Princess Kneesaa and Jocastu Nu are all being released this year.

Yeah, I'd take those "Fans' Choice" things as a vote for who to release first rather than who to make. Think back to the 2 Toyfare Fans' Choice polls. Question won the 1st, but Catman and Starman were made eventually. Raven won the 2nd poll, but Toyman showed up later, and Uncle Sam is in this year's sub.

Metron won the CIE exclusive poll, but Rocket Red ended up in an oversize slot this year as well (Thankfully Black Lantern Swamp Thing did not!).

I hope Captain Marvel Jr., Huntress and Ragman show up before the line ends.

Capt Marvel Jr & Huntress seem like a given. I can hope against all odds for a Granny Goodness, right?

And since the hammer can come down on a line at any moment, no matter how successful (see Rise of Cobra cutting the legs off of 25th Anni. G.I. Joe), who gets made first is important.

I know I saw on the .org that the bar for MOTUC was supposedly set at half of last year's subscriptions. So since we got to 135%, the 2013 sales will still only be 2/3rds what they are this year.

I would hope they eventually do made-to-order pre-orders for any MOTUC figures they feel might not be feasible to put in the subscription, like they're doing for Young Justice. So if they have a 12-figure subscription, whatever characters they felt were too expensive to make ought to be sold as a pre-order at a higher price.

One of the Matty forum mods is running a huge poll on the 2014 line right now:
