So, did you go out today and find any of the new release date sensitive toys?
Did you find a place to break street date and have them for weeks/months already?

I hit one Walmart and called 3 others. The ONLY one that seemed to actually do the street date was a small one nearby.

I was able to get Bane and Alfred MM, 3 Joes: Red Ninja, Joe Trooper and Zartan, Venom (aka the only Spidey 3 3/4 I will buy from this wave, unless the movie changes my mind) and Robin and Killer Kroc from the New Batman line (more for my son if he shows interest).

Quick thoughts: Bane: such a missed opportunity. Why no below the shoulder swivel? The paint on the head is not even complete. You can tell that the head is black plastic and painted.

Alfred: It looks better in person. He comes with the best piece of the Bat Signal. It's an OK figure.

Joes: I wanted to like the new figures, but they are TOO SKINNY. They look Sigma Sixish without trying to be. Zartan was my most wanted but he turned out to be the one I like least. If not for having a total of 4 alternate heads, he would be a waste. The Red Ninja is the perfect Storm Shadow figure without the gear. He comes with the two ninjato swords and a read piece of grappling crap. The Joe trooper looks like Master Chief before he worked out (with a blue cape). He is the best one imo. (General Joes has a nice review.)

No WM had Avengers, except my store which had the one Iron Man that has been there since the one night last week I didn't check. Local scalper Hot Wheel dude (maybe his son is a collector, dunno) beat me again.

So did you find anything this Memorial Day worth mentioning?

what's the pricing on the movie masters? I'd like to get them as close to the recommended 14.99 price tag as possible.

Nice finds! Found all of the Gi Joe figures today as well but passed on the 9.99 price, Walmarts havent figured out that they need to do a reset here. Some Yahoo is going around buying up just the Alfreds, after hitting 3 Targets that was the only one missing at each store. The new animated style figures are cool but they need more weapons and hopefully more villians will show up soon. Might pick up the Robin though!

I saw them in two New York Targets on, I believe, Friday. Picked up two Vaders and a Imperial Navy Commander.

Target had them, it would have been nice with the B1 G1 50% off.

Seeing the new stuff all over now. Seems to be a good initial supply of the Joes; I don't think I'd have a problem finding anything right now, although I imagine the supply will dry up quickly.

DKR stuff is out in force at Walmarts and Target; found the DKR 4" 5-pack at Target today with Catwoman and Bruce Wayne. I must be asleep at the wheel, as I hadn't even heard about this pack, and figured the whole line would be goofy variants of Bats and Bane. The pack pretty much has everything I might be interested in, and the inclusion of Catwoman pushed me over the edge into getting it. Still not all that impressed with the figures, but this Bane has a better paint job, and the grey stealth Batman in the pack looks pretty cool. It's just I got toys as good as this if not better from Kenner two decades ago. As for Movie Masters, I've seen them three places, and only once caught Alfred. Mr. Pennyworth is a welcome addition, even if he bears only a passing resemblance to Michael Cain. They did a good job on Bane, as well, though I care little for the movie design of the character; that's not Mattel's fault, though, and they did a good job translating him from the pics I've seen from the movie. I do see Bane and Bats piling up in the future, though, and folks will likely be relying on online stores for Catwoman.

The new stylized Batman stuff is also out. It's Crisis on Technicolor Batmen, part 523, but the three distinct figures of Robin, Croc and non-neon Batman aren't bad. Again, we're talking about stylized 90's figures, and Croc feels like his arms are rotocast to save money, so Mattel has all but given up on trying to do anything but crank out stuff as cheaply as possible. Still, if you can get into the style, they aren't bad figures for throwbacks.

Plenty of Spidey stuff, but all just the comic series in the 4" scale; Venom is well done, just lacking a bit of articulation. Ock is okay, at best, and the rest are more of what we've already gotten a dozen times over in the regular Spidey 4" line. I'm probably going to wind up with Venom, movie Spidey and movie Lizard in this line, and that's it (I'm assuming we're getting a 4" Lizard). Target had the 6" Lizard Battlers figure; I passed on that, waiting for the Walmart Legends style 6 incher.
