I'm thrilled that the Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure's are back and with Terrax and Arnim Zola out of the way, I'm curious about what other slightly larger but not Sentinal size (miss those days) characters might be a good fit for the build-a-figure in the next couple of Marvel Legends waves?

It seems like Thanos would be an obvious choice unless the Marvel Select version already fills that need for people. Personally I'd love to see a classic white/pink Nimrod from the X-Men comics. Scale seems just about right too.

What other build-a -figure possibilities are there for characters that haven't seen the Marvel Legends treatment yet?

If they did Armadillo, I think I'd be hooked in just on the whackiness of the choice.

More likely pick would be Executioner from Thor, a new Rhino, and Juggernaut mode Colossus maybe?

A larger scaled Hulk that was sculpted well would kick butt. Hasbro could even use some brain power and have a completely varient Red Hulk assortment.

Since Colossus is my favorite X-Men, I'd definitely be excited to see that Juggernaut Colossus figure.

The "Detroit Steel" suits from the current Invincible Iron Man comics might be about the right size for one.

"Lockjaw" of the Inhumans might fit scale-wise but I don't know how excited people would be to have a giant dog as the build-a-fig.

I think that Cameron Hodge (as he appears in the X-Tinction Agenda) or Devil Dinosaur with Moon Boy (and Don the Lobster/variant crushed Don the Lobster Wink ) would both be pretty cool.

Or S'ym. Fat chance, but I'd love to see a classic New Mutants wave (Cannonball, Mirage, Sunspot, Karma, Warlock, Cypher, Wolfsbane/variant Wolfsbane, Magik/variant Magik, Magma/variant Magma, in their original costumes), with S'ym as the BAF.

Super Adaptoid. I've wanted this forever, in his classic green Avengers mash-up goodness.

I'd also dig that weird old Spider-Slayer that had a computer monitor with JJJ's grinning face for a head.

Barring those a Kurse would look pretty sweet. Or Surtur.

I could also go for a Spiderman Doppleganger. He was my favorite 5 inch toybiz figure.

Some people have mentioned

  • Lockjaw
  • Classic Nimrod
  • Surtur
  • Kurse

I'd also add

  • a Mandroid
  • Ymir
  • Shaper of Worlds

Maybe for s&g they could make a Supreme Intelligence (or just paint Mr. Potato Head green and think of a potato related punny name).

Volstagg, as long as the other Warriors Three were in the wave.
Also, I think a nice sized Benjamin J. Grimm BAF would be cool.

I am in shock that someone ACTUALLY wants a Hulk....Aren´t there a MILLION Of him done? The Marvel Select ones should be MORE than enough scale to them...Weird person....

Anyways I would like The Stranger.

That was me. Hulk is like Ironman. He's been done a million times now and not one of them is really on scale, highly articulated, and sculpted well. You can get two of the three, but never all three. Honestly, I felt Thor was in this category too until this most recent release. He's a keeper...I won't be buying another Thor.

Strong Guy or Sauron as a BAF.

I'd still like to see Polaris, Jubilee, Multiple Man, Siren, Boomer, Shatterstar, Dazzler, Sunfire(non-AOA), any of Jon's choices and Alpha Flight not done (Aurora, Northstar, Puck, Shaman, Vindicator and Snowbird). If they would just throw one in per assortment that would be nice. Just finish off some of the older teams.

Doober, speaking of Alpha Flight, "Box" could make a nice BAF.
Jon, You are right that the New Mutants have been sorely neglected in Marvel Legends. I'd really like a Magik at some point. Supposedly a Dani Moonstar has been teased for future waves. I think a Warlock since he shapeshifts could be a good BAF. Variant figures could come extra elongated arms with giant fists or such things.

Somehow, I'm always a sucker for a good Hulk figure. Personally, the three best for me are the green 1st appearance, the McGuiness one that came with Valkyrie, and the one that came in the 2-pack with long head (not sac head) Leader at the end of the Toy Biz run. But if theydid a good sized Joe Fixit BAF, that would be cool.

How about a BAF figure that you don't actually have to build? I'd like to see The Spot, but only if he came with four or five spot stands, so that you could attach his torso to one spot stand, his arms to two other spot stands, etc, so he could look like this:

And I would love a Lockjaw!

Nimrod would be awesome..great call!

Honestly though, I'm happy that I haven't needed to have these BAFs thus far. I am praying that Apocalypse is never redone as they would be hard pressed to beat the 4HM sculpt and I really don't want to spend $100 to own another one!

I take it back. Haljor...You listed exactly what is needed. ASM 231.232 are some of my favorite comic books ever. Ditto for Batroc from Cap.

Count me in for a Super Adaptoid! An AIM soldier would be a must for the wave! If the did a Lockjaw it would be nice to have some Inhumans with it. You guys are going to cry foul but a SDCC exclusive Lockjaw with Medusa sounds about right to me. I wonder if there will be a Marvel exclusive this year?

would also accept a big, blaster-toting gorilla as long as The Red Ghost was in the wave

I sold all my MLs over the last couple years, and switched entirely to MU. BUT, if Hasbro were to pull an Awesome Android figure out of their butts, I would be back, all in. I loved the way the character was written in the She Hulk comics.

Lockjaw and Watcher have to be the leaders. Would love a big Silver Age looking Titatnium Man, Crimson Dynamo or Super Adaptoid. Odin could be cool ... but not sure you'd need a BAF.

Bane,

Those two issues of Spider-Man and Captain America #'s 251 and 252 with Mister Hyde teaming up with Batroc were the issues I had in mind when I posted my choices. I would also like to add an A.I.M. soldier as part of the wave.
