2002
Wizard World Chicago:
Wiz Kids

Wiz Kids had two areas set up at the convention: a gaming area for tournaments and a booth in the middle of the exhibitor section which had DC HeroClix on display, Mage Knight and Marvel HeroClix for sale, and a few tables where you could learn how to play HeroClix.

The goodie bag given to people who paid to enter the convention (not to the press, who got in for free and thus can't complain) had Batman and Spider-Man promotional HeroClix pieces. Wiz Kids was selling Marvel HeroClix starters and boosters, as well as a variety of Mage Knight products. They had several summer convention-exclusive premium pieces (from Marvel HeroClix), given out when you purchased a certain amount of products (actually, there were probably also Mage Knight premiums, but were were so excited over the HeroClix that we forgot to ask):

The DC HeroClix were on display, although pictures were not allowed. Starting in late July, Wiz Kids and DC will be unveiling the DC HeroClix pieces at a rate of about one a week on their web sites.

The MechWarrior game launches in August, and could likely be a bigger hit than even the HeroClix are, based on the interest that Wiz Kids has been seeing from fans.
