Playmobil - Super Sets

PLAYMOBIL® INTRODUCES 'SUPER SETS' AS WAY TO SAMPLE PLAYMOBIL PLAY WORLDS!

February 10, 2002 - Dayton, NJ --- PLAYMOBIL USA, Inc. today announced the introduction of four new 'Super Sets' at the 2002 American International Toy Fair.

According to Kathleen Syms, company spokesperson, "the new Super Sets have been specially designed as an exciting way for consumers who are unfamiliar with PLAYMOBIL to sample our engaging play worlds. Loaded with new play ideas, clever details and terrific features, each Super Set contains a playscape, fully accessorized figures and an assortment of accessories. The playscape serves as the base upon which a child can begin their PLAYMOBIL adventure. The figures and their accessories complete the set so that a child has everything he needs to enjoy a full PLAYMOBIL play experience. There are four sets in the series, each representing a unique PLAYMOBIL theme: Pirates, Knights, Construction and Farm. Each theme is expected to be popular as the Super Sets will bring hours of creative play to children of all ages."

The Pirates Super Set is themed around an island adventure with buried treasure. The Knights Super Set features a hero who saves the day. The Construction Super Set allows kids to lay underground pipes for a new bridge. And, the Farm Super Set contains everything a child will need to bring a harvest to market. The new PLAYMOBIL Super Sets will be available in retail stores in March.

The cornerstone of all PLAYMOBIL activities is the two and three-quarter inch figure which can bend, sit, stand, turn its head and move its arms. The hands, which can grasp, rotate and carry accessories is what makes realistic play possible. The figures also have a pleasing facial statement that suits just about any play situation. All PLAYMOBIL men, women, children, babies and animals are compatible with all other PLAYMOBIL vehicles, accessories and environments. The bright colors and rounded edges are ideal for children. And, the unique System X construction features locking-grid building pieces that allow children to quickly and easily change their play worlds by creating new buildings almost instantly. With hundreds of themes to choose from in a variety of age-appropriate settings, PLAYMOBIL is dedicated to enriching the lives of children by encouraging them to use their imaginations as they re-create everyday situations through role-play in a non-threatening environment.
