PLAYMOBIL® PREPARES FOR INVASION OF ALIENS!

February 10, 2002 - Dayton, NJ --- PLAYMOBIL USA, Inc. today announced the introduction of a brand new Alien play world at the 2002 American International Toy Fair.

According to Kathleen Syms, company spokesperson, "the mysterious PLAYMOBIL Alien play set will stretch children's imaginations to the outer reaches of space. Loaded with new play ideas, clever details and terrific features, this futuristic theme is the perfect complement to PLAYMOBIL's expanding world of space-themed toy assortment. The PLAYMOBIL Alien items will travel through space and attempt to conquer the world. The unique play sets feature a Control Center, Prison Pod, Hovercraft, Space Cruiser and an Alien Voyager. The Aliens theme is expected to capture everyone's imagination as this unique new line will bring hours of fun to children of all ages."

A galaxy of role-play ideas will circle the earth with the Control Center and Prison Pod. The Control Center features a data monitor, movable seat with laser cannon, and a laser scanner. The Prison Pod, similar to a Venus fly trap, opens and closes, and includes miniature plant pods, lasers and crystals. The Alien Hovercraft, Space Cruiser and Voyager protect the Alien's turf. All Aliens are fully accessorized. The new Aliens items will land in retail stores and into the hearts of a new generation of children in March.

The cornerstone of all PLAYMOBIL activities is the two and three-quarter inch figure which can bend, sit, stand, turn its head and move its arms. The hands, which can grasp, rotate and carry accessories is what makes realistic play possible. The figures also have a pleasing facial statement that suits just about any play situation. All PLAYMOBIL men, women, children, babies and animals are compatible with all other PLAYMOBIL vehicles, accessories and environments. The bright colors and rounded edges are ideal for children. And, the unique System X construction features locking-grid building pieces that allow children to quickly and easily change their play worlds by creating new buildings almost instantly. With hundreds of themes to choose from in a variety of age-appropriate settings, PLAYMOBIL is dedicated to enriching the lives of children by encouraging them to use their imaginations as they re-create everyday situations through role-play in a non-threatening environment.
