Baby Annabell

Zapf Creation's Baby Annabell Arrives in the Americas! Reactive to sound and motion, Baby Annabell provides classic play opportunities for a real-life mommy experience

NEW YORK, February 10, 2002 - Zapf Creation, creator of the best-selling and award-winning Rock-A-Bye CHOU CHOU doll, today introduced Baby Annabell to the Americas. Already the number one girl's toy in the U.K., Baby Annabell is sure to be an instant hit in the United States with her interactive sound and motion-sensitive capabilities that inspire real-life, baby-like experiences for children.

"Baby Annabell is an amazingly realistic doll that provides children with a true-to-life baby play experience," said Sandra L. Crawford, President and General Manager, Zapf Creation (U.S.), Inc. "Baby Annabell's sound and motion sensors react to the care provided by her little mommy or daddy, offering children an interactive play concept that fulfills a child's need to nurture and imitate their own parents."

For her North American launch, Zapf Creation has updated Baby Annabell to include functions that will enhance the play options for children. Baby Annabell's natural look and feel make her more realistic than all other motion and sound-sensitive dolls on the market. Her realistic functions allow her to cry, babble happily, make sleeping and burping sounds, suck on and reject her bottle, and move her eyes and mouth.

Just like a real baby, loud noises and bumps in the night will wake Baby Annabell and cause her to cry but "mommy" can calm her down by singing songs, shaking a rattle, or rubbing her tummy. She also makes facial expressions when fed her bottle, burps after feeding, and will close her eyes when she is ready to fall asleep.

Baby Annabell's accessories include an assortment of care sets, blankets, rompers, dresses, among other clothing accessories. Also available is a lamb-shaped changing bag, bouncy seat, and a four-poster canopy crib. The vast array of accessories provides children with endless hours of play opportunities.

Baby Annabell and her accessories are appropriate for children ages three and older and will be available in fall 2002 throughout the U.S. and Canada at major retail locations such as Toys `R' Us, Target, Wal*Mart and F.A.O. Schwarz. Baby Annabell is available for the suggested retail prices of $49.99.
