The Avengers 3 3/4" figures look fantastic, but...

...none of them have waist articulation?

OoooooohhhWEE! What's up with that?

Favorite 5 Items from Toy Fair

I really liked a lot of what I saw in different lines and thought it was rather diverse this year. That being said:

5. The new MOTU characters..the 3 that include TG's new character, the Dragon Guy and the armored blue figure. They look great and even though I have no idea who they are, I want them.

4. Arn Anderson in the Mattel WWE Classic Matty Assortment. A founding member of the Four Horsemen and one of the most underestimated wrestlers of all time, The Enforcer is finally coming. Otherwise, I found Mattel WWE to be rather underwhelming.

3. TF Generations/ Old School Shockwave...finally. He looks great and is long overdue.

2. The Halo McFarlane line. It looks like they have a new 3 3/4" scale coming with vehicles in addition to a more detailed larger scale to compete with Square Enix. Simply awesome. I can't pin down an item so to speak, but if they proceed with a 3-4" scale line with the same level of quality that GI Joe offers, I will be hooked.

Transformers news

I can't find the old topic anywhere and the search function of the site isn't working so I'm starting with a new topic.

Let's just jump into Toy Fair:

The Good

  • Official reveal of the 2012 Generations line for Fall of Cybertron. The Combaticons are mighty impressive, though Hasbro can't seem to figure out how to put it together right. The one on display is colored nothing like the promotional photos they've been showing off or the game colors so hopefully they just stuck paint on a randomly colored prototype.
  • The rest of the Generations FoC releases include Jazz, Optimus, and Shockwave. Shockwave really stole the show with two great looking modes. I really like the looks of Op, he's gotten closer to his War Within comic look this time around. Jazz is pretty nice, too, but his alt mode is a bit lacking compared to his Earth mode with all the numbers and logos.
  • While we're only getting 8 new Generations figures this year, Hasbro has stated that the series will be the major line for 2013 and we'll see 40 figures released next year.
  • Oh, and someone named Death's Head is joining the Marvel Legends. I hear he's popular. Wink

are any Firefox users having trouble on the site?

I've had a few reports of people getting an 'access denied' error when they request a new password and then try to log in with it in Firefox.

The support forum suggests clearing your toymania.com cookies in Firefox and then trying again. I know that's a pain, but wanted to mention it in case it helps anyone. (Also, using a different browser seems to works, but that's even more of a pain if you have a preference for one browser over another.)

So Geoff Johns' MOTUC figure is...

"Sir Laser-Lot"

A bright blue knight with a laser sword.

Nosir, I don't like it. Though if anything, he might have fit in the old New Adventures line.

New Matty Reveals on their FB page!

Spikor, Forsta, Snake Men 2 pack. DC Club figures and more!!

Well Neca looks to Have hit a home run lol!!

2 more Freddy's, Jason from Friday Part 3, Rocky 3 and 4 figures, some new gremlins and E.T. Pretty much everything we expected. Nothing earth shattering like Expendables or Kyle Reese. Maybe they have some surprises still to show

UPDATE: Confirmed that they are doing Marines from Aliens(!!!), 84 Kyle Reese Rambo First Blood!! Oh HAPPY DANCE!!

Lego Monster Fighters!!!!

Laughing out loud Anybody know anything about this awesome-looking line? They've got pictures at the International site. It reminds me a little of the old McFarlane Monsters playsets. But these are even cooler because they're legos! I thought I was done with Legos, but these combined with the new DC and Marvel sets coming out means I'm gonna have to rearrange my house to make room for 'em! Crap... I mean cool!

Way to stick it to the Marvel Legends fans at Toyfair, Hasbro!

Let's see, you detail every last Transformer, GI Joe, Avengers, and Marvel Universe figure coming out in the next year, but when it comes to ML, we get two figures we already knew about (Blade, and US Agent), one we didn't, (Mystique)who wasn't even shown outside of a slide show, and... 5 more figures and a BAF. WTF?! You can't even name who else is going to be in series 3? Oh, but wait. You had a 2013 preview figure of Hyperion. Well, that makes up for everything doesn't it?

It just boggles the mind how low on the priority scale this line is for Hasbro, even though it's one of the most popular lines out there. And they even claim that its sales are good. Why can't they throw us ML fans a bone for once?!
