I'll borrow liberally from Jon on the rules and format since he is the master.
The rules are simple: I'll post a small excerpt from a comic book cover. Each time I update, each player gets to ask one "yes or no" question ("Is this a Marvel or Fawcett comic?", "Was the comic published in or before 1990?", etc. - any question that can be answered with "yes" or "no") and make one guess as to both the name of the series and issue number of the comic. There's no set schedule for updates; I'll just update when I have time. First player to five points wins the round.
And a note: the Grand Comics Database is an incredibly wonderful resource.
Comic Vine also works really well if you can tell what character is in the picture.

Sweet. =)
Avengers 250 (Milgrom and Sinnott, '84).
Point to Jon. It was the book that started me collecting so I had to start with it for the game too. And I was worried that being so close to the book I'd pick out too indecipherable of a slice.

Avengers was one of the first comics I ever read regularly, too. I love pretty much issues 200 to 300. =)
Another point for Jon. Guess I'm either not making these tough enough or you really are a demon. I think I'm sticking to stuff I know too much, but I really wanted to sneak Jaxxon into the game.

Sledge Hammer! issue 2
I didn't even know he had a comic!
Good job BumblebeeZ3. :b
Hey, Bumblebee is on the board with a heck of a find. I'd be interested to know how you finally nailed it down. I actually have the full run of Sledge Hammer comics. Both issues. I'm glad someone found it as I was getting worried I went too hard.

Deadshot 1 (November 1988, Luke McDonnell).
Regarding the comic, it was a matter of looking through the comics Spidey was in in 1988 on the Comic Vine. For the longest time I thought that the bottom of Hammer's coat was a portion of a shoulder pad.
You don't see Spider-man firing a gun too often.
Jon has his third point. I think I've subconsciously created an era theme going here.

At first I was thinking it was an old war comic but then it just clicked. ;b
A definite favorite for me. GI Joe really clicked for me when the second wave of characters kicked in. When I sold my run, I kept 1-12 just so I could hold on to this one. Fourth point to Jon.
