I really would have liked some Revoltech figures based on that movie.
I (bleep). Well that's awesome news. Hopefully it works out. I really enjoyed that flick.
The sucess of this movie is a real head scratcher to me. You got Giant Monsters fighting Giant Robots from one the most creative directors in the world and you end up with a luke warm reception. My sons and I rewatched the movie again last night and we had just as much fun watching it a second time, at home, as we did in the movies. I have a set of the series 1 Neca Figures, but was waiting to open them unitl I got series 2. I never saw the 18" Gypsy Danger, and I hear there is an 18" Knifehead on the way but when? I hear that Neca is working on Series 3, but with no insterest in getting a movie sequel any time soon and Neca working on tons of different stuff, I feel this universe is a real missed opportunity.
Oh man... if Bandai or Revoltech were to make figures I would cave. Nothing against NECA's which look great, but I've been able to stop myself from buying them. But hyper-posable figures will break my will.
Loved the movie and as said, no idea how it didn't destroy at the box office. Just on a baseline observation (not delving into quality of writers/directors/actors involved) Transformers -which was way more focused on humans running around than it was on the actual giant robots- somehow did better than giant robots fighting giant monsters. Makes. No. Sense.

If the kaiju are released via S.H. Monsterarts, I will not be able to resist.
My complaint about the movie was that the fight scenes were too hard to follow. They were at night and in the rain, and I understand that those are hard to light, but maybe then don't make them be at night and in the rain? I don't know how much they spent making the movie, but they needed to spend a bit more on lighting. Having said that, I don't think that is a reason why people would have stayed away from it in theaters - it was still fun to watch otherwise.
