Sideshow Toy

Sideshow did not have any new Universal Monsters Pozers on display at Toy Fair, but they did have a new large figure: an 18-inch version of the Vampyre. This 1:4th scale piece will be limited to 700 pieces and will have a retail price of about $150 USD when it ships in May/June 2003.

Another high-end piece on display was the Spell I from H.R. Giger, part of Sideshow's partnership with Morpheus. (No shipping date on this piece yet, but the retail will be around $749 USD.)

Sideshow has a license to make a life-size replica head of the TX (female Terminator) from Terminator 3. It will have blue lights in the eyes. It was not on display, but they did have a poster in the showroom to announce the license.

The Insanely Twisted Rabbits polystone collectibles are based on the art of Michel Gagné (read more about this). The Rabbit shown below will ship in July/August 2003, and is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, with a retail price of about $40 USD.

The figure stands similar to the ones which can be found in the James Bond action figure series are now available separately for about $5 USD each: they come in Monty Python, USMC, and Monsters logo versions. Adding another dimension to the figure stand is the new series of display bases: available in mud/grass and dungeon versions, the one-figure base retails for about $10 and the two-figure version retails for about $14. Each of these will begin shipping in March/April 2003.

If a more complex background is what you need, Sideshow is also offering a Stone Wall Environment, available in August/September 2003 with a retail of about $25. The wall is 2.75 inches wide by 6.25 inches tall by 14.25 inches long. An end cap (2.75" wide by 6.25" tall by 3.25" long) can be fitted to either end of the wall.
