NECA: Lava Lamps & Cookie Jars
NECA had something on display in the very center of their Toy Fair booth which delighted passers-by: a leg lamp. "Is that from... ???" And yes, it is from A Christmas Story. The leg lamp on display was a full-size version, but for the more modest collector, a smaller desk-sized version of the lamp will also be available.
In addition to the lamp replicas, NECA is also making action figures from the movie. The figures are a six-inch scale: Ralphie, Mom and Randy (in snowsuit), "the Old Man" (with lamp replica to scale), and Flick. Flick has a "magnetic tongue action" so that he can get stuck to the pole. In addition to these figures, there will be a ten-inch Ralphie and a twelve-inch "Old Man" figure with sound chips. Unfortunately, the figures are still all "pending approval," so no photography was allowed.
If your significant other is opposed to the idea of a leg lamp, how about a lava lamp? NECA has a Nightmare Before Christmas lava lamp and several Marvel-character lava lamps underway, including the Hulk and Spider-Man vs the Green Goblin.
The Hulk and Spider-Man are also planned in cookie jar formats.
