WAVE 16: Sneak Attack - Web Flyers The most powerful and evil force the world has ever seen has seized control of the earth's most sinister villains. It is manipulating them to carry out its diabolical scheme for world domination. The only heroes standing in the way are Spider-Man and the X-Men. These "Heroes Unite" in order to save the earth. It will take their combined powers and weapons to defeat the Masters of Evil and save the earth from total annihilation. Only you can help the "Heroes Unite" team win! The first in the "Sneak Attack" line, it was released together with the X-Men's Secret Weapon Force badge to start the theme of 1998. Subtitled "Flying Fighters", this line had a new, less animated style, improved sculpts of Hobgoblin and Carnage plus an excellent new "regular" Spidey. Naturally, all four figures featured flying and gliding gizmoes. The biggest complaint, following in the theme of Capt. America's shield and Daredevil's billyclub, was the lack of a cape and glider with the Hobgoblin. Like the figures in Web Force, Hobgoblin ideally should be able to stand alone as a complete figure without the Sneak Attack accessories. Still, a great quartet for the play value.
