TONKA TRUCKS GET EVEN TOUGHER IN 2003 - Newest Items Combine Tough and Rugged Features With Creativity, Personality, and Imaginative Heroic Vehicle Play

For 55 years TONKA has meant trucks, TOUGH TRUCKS. In 2003, the TONKA brand continues to build on its well-earned reputation with new vehicles and trucks for boys. Joining the TONKA brand's classic lineup of construction trucks made with steel are two new segments: TONKA TOWN and TEAM BUILDERS. Plus, the new RADIO CONTROL TONKA MIGHTY DUMP TRUCK was designed to put little boys in control of their wheels.

Kids will also be able to experience TONKA TOUGH action on television with a special TONKA TOWN video, featuring two new exciting stories, that will be included exclusively in select TONKA TOWN products beginning this spring and all basic TONKA TOWN play sets in the fall.

TONKA TOWN

Buckle up and join the TONKA brand's CHUCK THE DUMP TRUCK vehicle and his 4-wheel drive buddies, BOOMER THE TOW TRUCK, PATROL TRUCK PAT and HOOK 'N LADDER, in TONKA TOWN, an expandable truck-filled world loaded with activities, imaginative workstations and friendly and hard-working characters that allow little guys to play TONKA TOUGH. Each of five themed play sets feature the 1/64-scale die-cast character trucks that are great for speedy action, each with a distinctive personality and job to do in TONKA TOWN. Connectable track pieces are included in each set for kids to build the world of TONKA TOWN. They can even connect with some other brands of preschool track systems.

TONKA TOWN POLICE STATION STAN (Approximate retail price:$19.99)

POLICE STATION STAN is one of the most helpful citizens in TONKA TOWN! Included are two die-cast vehicles, CHUCK THE DUMP TRUCK and BOOMER THE TOW TRUCK, a race-and-chase elevator and vehicle ramp. The play set features electronic sounds and phrases, and kids can help keep TONKA TOWN safe by connecting it to other TONKA TOWN play sets. Three "AA" batteries (not included) are required. TONKA TOWN RACEWAY (Approximate retail price:$ 32.99)

Boys will feel the need for speed when they watch the "RACE DAY IN TONKA TOWN" episode on the exclusive video included in TONKA TOWN packaging. They can recreate the excitement with the TONKA TOWN RACEWAY, which comes with two TONKA TOUGH competitors decked out in racing gear, CHUCK THE DUMP TRUCK and BOOMER THE TOW TRUCK. They start the race on the motorized "mountain climb" conveyor and dash down the curvy mountain road toward the finish line while obstacles are removed by pushing buttons and moving levers at just the right moment. Electronic sounds and phrases make the race even more thrilling, so that kids might decide to pass up the finish line to take another lap. The play set is available in August and requires three "C" batteries, which are not included.

TONKA TOWN BASIC PLAY SETS (Approximate retail price:$9.99)

Build the world of TONKA TOWN with all the characters seen in the video! Each play set comes with a 1/64-scale die cast character vehicle, connectable track pieces, and is designed with hands-on action features for hours of TONKA TOWN vehicle play. FIRE HOUSE PHIL comes with HOOK 'N LADDER and SPARKY THE SERVICE STATION comes with BOOMER THE TOW TRUCK. Available now. SOAPIN' SAM'S CAR WASH comes with PATROL TRUCK PAT, available in August.

TONKA TEAM BUILDERS

The TONKA TEAM BUILDERS figures are built to build big solutions to power through the biggest adventures. These hard hat heroes give boys the tools to build them into the right machine to get the biggest jobs done. In an all new customizable vehicle play, TONKA puts together building, collecting and connecting with a rugged and unique a crew of heroic vehicle tough guys. They are the TONKA TEAM BUILDERS. The TEAM BUILDERS, the HEATBLASTER FIRE ENGINE and the RESCUE JET lead the way. All provide TONKA hands-on play with interchangeable snap-on parts and tools that are connectible and compatible across the entire lineup of TONKA TEAM BUILDERS trucks.

TEAM BUILDERS HEATBLASTER FIRE ENGINE (Approximate retail price:$19.99) Available now, this awesome connect and activate flame buster features a water cannon launcher to extinguish the most formidable flames and an extendable ladder pack for daring high altitude rescues. The HEATBLASTER FIRE ENGINE rear cab opens up to give boys all the TEAM BUILDERS toy working tools they need to battle the fire, including a circular saw, grabber claw, ram axe, bolo projectile backpack, ladder backpack, two fire hose packs and wheels. Emergency! Emergency! After speeding to the rescue site, its removable backpack with cool electronic lights, sirens, flying sounds and phrases, snaps onto any TONKA TEAM BUILDERS figure. Unfold the jet to deploy the jump platform and lookout station with a moving satellite dish. Slide the leg stabilizers out and snap off the nose of the plane to reveal your TEAM BUILDERS figure. The rescue possibilities grow even better with removable wings that snap onto any TEAM BUILDERS figures. The jet is compatible with all TONKA TEAM BUILDERS figures and vehicles (sold separately) to create endless tough rescue action.

TEAM BUILDERS MOTORIZED VEHICLES (Approximate retail price: $14.99) Available in August, kids can add motorized TONKA TEAM BUILDERS figures to their heroic fleet to help get the job done. Like all the other TONKA TEAM BUILDERS, all the parts of the motorized CHIEF GRAVEL HUNTER Dump Truck and CAPTAIN CRIME CATCHER Police Vehicle connect with any team builders vehicle or figure for more awesome adventures. The CHIEF GRAVEL HUNTER has a working drill arm, a working hammering arm and a removable dump bed. RADIO CONTROL TONKA MIGHTY DUMP TRUCK (Approximate retail price: $49.99) TONKA once again puts little kids in the drivers seat and in total control of their construction wheels this year with the RADIO CONTROL TONKA MIGHTY DUMP TRUCK vehicle.
