Buzz Lightyear and his fellow Space Rangers will be starring in their own animated series this fall courtest of Disney's Television Animation department entitled Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. Of course, Mattel has a full toyline prepared to support the series. Both the toys and the cartoon look to be winners based on what was shown at Toy Fair. There are 5 characters in the Star Command assortment: Buzz Lightyear, the familiar hero of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 (unfortunately, not voiced by Tim Allen for the animated series); XR, an robot with a propensity for coming apart at the seams; Zurg, the evil Emperor introduced in Toy Story 2; the villainous Warp Darkmatter, Zurg's henchman and nemesis to Buzz; and Booster, the big alien slug who can headbutt his way through anything.
The initial assortment of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command action figures contains 5 characters: Back Row: XR, Zurg Front Row: Booster, Warp Darkmatter and Buzz Lightyear. 
Of course, there will be more releases in the regular Toy Story 2 line as well as seen in this assortment feature RC, Woody, Rex and the ever popular Space Aliens!

Buzz Lightyear and his Space Cycle
New Night Control Buzz Lightyear. This 12-inch Buzz can say phrases or play sound effects, and knows if he's airborne or not. He has full articulation at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, index fingers, waist, knees and ankles, and wings that deploy to an open-position when the red button is pressed. 
His head moves left to right and up and down, and his face shield slides open and closed. His backpack can be unscrewed to reveal a battery box and the lid of his wrist communicator can be opened. He even has directional sensors to which direction he's turned and the switch on the bottom of his right foot determines if Buzz has left the ground. Glow in the dark deco makes this toy perfect for all kinds of nightime adventures.
