bladeposter.jpg - 7123 Bytes Full Moon Toys is taking the leap into the mass market this year in a big way. Puppet Master figures will be carried in a number of mass outlets including Toys R Us and KayBee. The first few series of Puppet Master were tremendously successful, selling through nearly anywhere they were available. Now, with this new mass market interest, Full Moon is able to go back and do even more authentic Movie Editions of the early puppet figures complete with updated packaging and new features.

Lest you think that these figures will be just knock-offs of the originals, there have been many improvements to the figures to add play and display value and to make them more authentic to the films. For example, Six Shooter's guns are now all removable, Jester's head now has a wind-up mechanism (instead of the wheel on the back), and Torch now has the real movie emblem on his chest. These types of little tweaks will certainly make these figures attractive for old school fans and new buyers

As an added bonus, Full Moon is including some older, rare trading cards in random packages. Just an added bonus!

Furthermore, if you want to carry around all your Puppet Master figures to creep out your friends, Full Moon has got you covered. With the Puppet Master Trunk, you can display all your puppets in authentic style.

Probably the most anticipated news of the show is the fact that Trancers' Jack Deth is coming! This 12-inch figure was only available in very early prototype, but even still you can see the direction this is heading. With a large cult following Trancers is one movie that fans have been asking for in figure form for a long time according to Rick Phares of Full Moon. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that we will see a Helen Hunt figure to go with old Jack (Trancers was one of Helen Hunt's earlier movie roles).

Phares said that several changes would be made to the prototype including lengthening the trenchcoat, changing some of the costume colors and materials and tweaks to the sculpt. But all in all, it is pretty impressive. The figure is slated to be a Full Moon Direct exclusive, but might appear elsewhere depending on demand.

Speaking of 12" figures, orders for the Full Moon Direct 12" Blade figure have been tremendous. The response is so overwhelming that Full Moon might allow a single retailer to carry the original doll if the demand is there. But if you can't wait, there is an alternative. There will be a Spencer Gifts exclusive Blood-splattered 12" Blade figure coming soon.

The Tiny Terror figues were shown and it looks as though Spencers may be your best bet for finding these super-deformed style figures.

Blood Dolls was also reshown and Phares indicated that they hoped to take it to the mass market as well. Apparently the specialty market orders were quite strong and they feel as though the property could reach a wider audience if given the chance.

The other major news to come out of the show was the first showing of the Demonic Toys figures. The first set will consist of three figures in one package including a working Jack-In-The-Box.

In related news, the next Full Moon movie project was announced as Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys. Toys are sure to follow. Phares described the puppets for this flick as more techno-cybernetic with Terminator-style technology underneath the puppet exterior. Sounds like a Battle Royale.

The year 2000 looks to be a big year for Full Moon. At the show, Phares noted that they will be looking into non-Full Moon licenses for the first time this year. He stated that they would be open to a wide variety of licenses in the realm of movies, TV, comics, video games and more. We can't wait to see what develops.

Full Moon has also completed a licensing deal with Spencer Gifts to have them create their own Blade Halloween mask. Should be spooky!

Full Moon set up shop right in the heart of Times Square in a luxury hotel suite. It is an elegant change from all the hustle and bustle of the showrooms in the Toy Center and we expect other companies to continue this trend in the future.

Take a look below at all the things Full Moon had to offer.
