| As the American International Toy Fair began to slip into a memory for many, the Tokyo Toy Show was just gearing up. Toys are a huge business in Japan, and much more ingrained into the popular culture than they are in America. In Japan things like animation, comic books (manga) and toys are not assumed to be the stuff of children alone, and are much more widely accepted by the adult population at large.
