Meijer's Holiday Toy Price Drop & Top 25 List

Meijer Drops Prices On More Than 400 of Season's Hottest Toys In-store and Online

Retailer also releases its Top 25 Toy List for the holiday season

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Nov. 1, 2012 -- Meijer will continue to be a toy destination this holiday season, offering customers the lowest prices on the hottest toys and brands by slashing prices on more than 400 popular products in-store and online.

The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer on Sunday will also issue its Holiday Gift Guide that includes 18 pages of holiday toys, as well as an online release of its Top 25 Toy List for the holiday season, which features national brands like Fisher Price, Mattel and Leap Frog. The holiday gift guide will be available in stores and online.

"Meijer understands that our customers are continuing to keep a close eye on price tags this holiday season, which is why we're once again offering price drops on a variety of the hottest toys," said Adam Whitney, toy merchandise manager for Meijer. "Our ultimate goal this holiday season is to help our customers save money while still enjoying the tradition of gift giving."

Meijer launched this season's Toy Price Drop program earlier this year to help the growing number of customers who already began holiday shopping. According to the National Retail Federation, many shoppers last year planned to start their shopping in October, with a more significant percent beginning their holiday shopping in November.

In addition to Meijer's normal low prices on some of the hottest items, the Toy Price Drop program includes virtually every toy category, including everything from educational/development toys and Disney Princess dolls to Avengers action figures and race cars. The price drop items include toys from such popular brands as V-Tech, Leap Frog, Lego, Fisher Price, Nerf, Hasbro and Mattel.

For example, the price on the Leap Frog Leapster Explorer Recharger is reduced by 20 percent to $32 from $39.99, while the Fisher Price Grow with Me 3 in 1 Skateboard is reduced by more than 15 percent to $29.99 from $34.99.

The price drops are in effect in-store and online at http://Meijer.com to help Meijer customers nationwide find the toys and other holiday gifts and entertaining items they need. According to ComScore, online spending last year saw a 15 percent increase over the previous year.

Meijer also plans to issue its Top 25 Toy List on http://Meijer.com on Sunday to help customers navigate the wish lists of their loved ones. The list features the hottest items of the holiday season, including the Leap Frog Leap Pad Explorer 2, Fisher Price Cruise & Groove Ballapalooza, Barbie 2012 Holiday doll, Furby, and Air Hogs Hover Assault Radio Controlled Helicopter.

Many Meijer customers will receive the Meijer Holiday Gift Guide through local delivery to their home, and it will also be available on Sunday in stores and online at http://Meijer.com.
